	onist wants to break new ground in the scene and is trying to fill a gap\n
	in the German music landscape by using German lyrics instead of English\, 
	unlike\nmost shoegaze/alternative rock bands.\n\nWith their debut EP “Gege
	n die Wand” (Against the Wall)\, released on December 5\nby the independen
	t label Porcupine Records\, the two devote themselves to a\nmelancholic\, 
	dark sound that finds its inspiration in bands such as DIIV\,\nDuster\, Co
	cteau Twins\, My Bloody Valentine\, and Slowdive\, combining these\ninflue
	nces with German lyrics. The EP comprises five songs and deals with\nfrust
	ration with people\, structures\, and life in a city\, which are the centr
	al\nthemes of “Gegen die Wand.”\n\n—\n\nEFKA MOTT is a Berlin based Lieder
	macher influenced by Arthur Russel\, Lou Reed\,\nJessica Pratt and traces 
	of German Post-Punk and Krautrock. Whether snippets of\nconversations betw
	een friends and strangers\, fragments of memories and longings\,\nbad expe
	riences with drugs\, or the struggle to become what you already are –\n Ef
	ka Mott sings about these topics in a rustic style with their guitar and\n
	harmonica\, accompanied by Berlin-based artist Franna on cello with experi
	mental\nsoundscapes.
